Plan holiday light installation in four steps: preview your lights on a photo of your house, mark your roofline, review a rough price range, then request local installers. Glow My House is a design tool and referral service. Independent installers inspect your home, set the final price and do the work.
How does holiday light installation work with Glow My House?
- Pick a theme (Diwali, Christmas or New Year) and upload a photo of your house.
- Mark your roofline and other features; see a preview and a rough price range.
- Enter your ZIP code. Chicagoland is our launch area. Other areas join a waitlist.
- Submit your request. In Chicagoland we send your photo, light map and estimate to up to three local installers who contact you to inspect and quote.
Which areas can request installers today?
Chicagoland, Illinois (Cook, DuPage, Lake, Will, Kane and McHenry counties) is our launch area, and we are onboarding independent installers there for the 2026 season. Everywhere else, you can still design your lights and join a waitlist. We will not share your request with anyone until installers are available in your area.
What to include in your first installation request
- Your ZIP code and number of stories.
- Which features you want lit: roofline, windows, trees, bushes, wreaths.
- Whether you want to lease a full-service package, hire labor only, or install permanent lighting.
- Your preferred install window around Diwali (Nov 8), Christmas (Dec 25) or New Year (Dec 31).
What does Glow My House do, and what do installers do?
| Glow My House | The installer |
|---|---|
| Preview your lights on your own house photo | Inspects your home and measures the real roofline |
| Shows a rough, modeled price range | Gives you a written quote with inclusions and exclusions |
| Shares your request with up to 3 local installers, with your consent | Contacts you, schedules, installs, maintains and removes the lights |
Questions to ask any installer
Ask who owns the lights, what maintenance is included, when lights come down, who stores them and whether returning next season needs a new quote. Ask for a current certificate of insurance and any required local licensing. Glow My House does not verify licenses or insurance unless we say so.
